Injectables such as BOTOX® Cosmetic and Restylane® have become tremendously popular over the last several years because of the dramatic and near-immediate results that can be produced with little or no recovery time. At The Gunter Center for Aesthetics & Cosmetic Surgery, several injectables are offered to address the different aesthetic issues of our patients. JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel, Perlane®, Radiesse®, Restylane®, and BOTOX® injections are just come of the solutions our Dallas, Texas surgeons can use to enhance patients’ beauty and recreate the look of youth. Patients who seek a more complete cosmetic enhancement can even opt for additional procedures such as a facelift, brow lift, or permanent makeup.
Candidates for Restylane®, BOTOX® Cosmetic, and Facial Fillers
Injectables can achieve amazing results for patients, yet treatments are minimally invasive and require little to no recovery time. BOTOX® injections can be used to eliminate frown lines or other lines that form on the brow over time. Restylane® and other dermal fillers are used for several reasons, to restore volume to the lips and soften facial creases and wrinkles. Fillers may also be used to soften nasolabial folds, the deep creases that form between the sides of the nose and the corners of the mouth.

Injectable Consult Paperwork
Before your consultation, we request that you fill out the appropriate paperwork to expedite your visit. Please download and print the PDF paperwork for the procedure of your choice:
Once Cindy Nickel, R.N. or Laurie Ann Wood, R.N. consult with the patient and select the most appropriate injectable, the treatment areas are cleansed, the appropriate numbing agent is chosen and applied, and the filler or BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected into the tissues. If there is any discomfort, it is minor and temporary. After the procedure is complete, it is important to apply pressure and ice to the treatment area. Makeup can be used immediately after the injections are made, however, and there is virtually no downtime associated with any of our injectable procedures.

Cindy Nickel, R.N.
Cosmetic Nurse Specialist

“Fillers and permanent makeup have one main thing in common…no one should know you ‘did something.’ You can’t go just anywhere and get great results. Anyone can do it but to do it well demands artistry, training and experience. This is the only thing I do. It’s my specialty.”
—Cindy Nickel
At a young age, Cindy’s artistic ability was expressed through oil painting. As time went on, you could say the passion remained – but the canvas changed. Since graduating from the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in nursing, Cindy has focused her efforts in the realm of cosmetic enhancement. For nine years she has been an integral part of the Gunter Center team where she offers BOTOX® injections, dermal fillers, sclerotherapy, and permanent cosmetic makeup. According to Cindy, aesthetic medicine is a perfect match for her skill set.
“Fillers and injectables demand not only a thorough knowledge of anatomy, but a true sense of artistry. I’ve always been fascinated by both the clinical and creative aspects of facial rejuvenation.”
Cindy offers her patients the very latest in products and application techniques because of her commitment to ongoing education. She has completed close to 40 advanced courses since 2002. Cindy has the distinction of being a certified instructor for Allergan—the manufacturer of BOTOX® Cosmetic and Juvéderm™. She teaches plastic surgeons who are interested in growing their injectable practice the nuances associated with non invasive rejuvenation.
Cindy’s other proclivity is permanent cosmetic makeup. Contrary to other practitioners and salons, she has been able to put two of the biggest fears to rest; pain and an unnatural result.
“Almost without exception my patient’s biggest concern is pain because they have heard stories from others. The good news is it does not have to hurt. As a nurse, I use medicine to make the experience comfortable with less downtime. Permanent cosmetic makeup should never be obvious. A great result means it’s soft and natural and pretty, not applied.”
Cindy’s philosophy is the same regarding fillers which can easily be overdone.
“I take my time so I can create subtle changes using a conservative approach. No big huge lips or frozen expressions.”
It is no surprise that Cindy’s practice is almost exclusively referral based.
“I’m very fortunate have built a sense of loyalty among my patients. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than that level of trust.”
Laurie Ann Wood, R.N.
Cosmetic Nurse Specialist

“My intention is to make my patients look fresher and younger but never overdone.”
—Laurie Ann Wood, R.N.
Laurie Ann Wood understands that natural results using injectables are no accident. Although temporary in nature, they are not “cosmetics” –there are risks. That’s why it’s important that any injectables are administered by a trained professional in a medically appropriate environment. The Gunter Center has found the perfect pro in Laurie—a registered nurse who brings 20 years of nursing coupled with 9 years of injectable experience to her new role at our practice.
“My approach closely mirrors The Gunter Center’s philosophy that patient safety and satisfaction are paramount. I take what I do very seriously. My nursing training brings out my artistic side. My patients look fresh, never obvious. Part of that is knowing when to stop. Getting a great look is predicated on finding someone with aesthetically appropriate judgment, discretion, and solid experience.”
Laurie regularly attends conferences and peer training where the latest in techniques and inside information are exchanged with other nurse injectors. The sheer depth and breadth of products on the market can be confusing for patients.
“The injectable revolution has caused widespread misunderstanding about what can and cannot (or should and should not) be done. It’s important for me to know what the patient wants to accomplish so I can educate them on the best options available to achieve the look they desire.
Wrinkle reduction, volume, and shaping are second nature to Laurie. Aside from the forehead, crow’s feet, and nasolabial fold, Laurie brings a special brand of artistry to the lips and jawline. In addition she performs hand rejuvenation with fillers and uses Botox® for neck muscles and under the arm to treat sweating. Patients who regularly book appointments with Laurie comment on her gentleness and quick delivery.
“I use very small needles and hold the tissue in a certain way so most people don’t even need to be numbed. With schedules being so packed these days, my patients appreciate getting in and out quickly without sacrificing results.”
What’s the one thing a prospective patient can count on when booking with Laurie?
“I can be trusted not to overdo them. I am not selling Botox® and fillers. I’m sharing my knowledge of techniques and applications that will subtly improve their appearance.”
