Dr. C. Spencer Cochran
C. Spencer Cochran, MD is a highly-respected rhinoplasty surgeon who was hand-selected by Dr. Jack P. Gunter to continue his practice upon Dr. Gunter’s retirement in June of 2014. Dr. Cochran is skilled in all aspects of nasal surgery. Like Dr. Gunter, rhinoplasty is his passion and area of expertise. Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of both the Rhinoplasty Society and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, our surgeon embraces the most innovative, cutting-edge techniques available in nasal surgery. His focused background and surgical experience have allowed him to become a highly-skilled rhinoplasty specialist.
“Rhinoplasty intrigues me because of its inherent degree of difficulty. To be extraordinary, you must develop a keen aesthetic eye, a deep understanding of anatomy, and incredible technical proficiency. You must also commit to it as a specialty because rhinoplasty is a procedure that is challenging to do well if you are not doing it all the time.”
Procedures Dr. Cochran Performs

Expertise in Nasal Surgery
Dr. Cochran received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he graduated at the top of his class. Dr. Cochran’s interest in rhinoplasty led him to specialize in nasal surgery at the world-renowned University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas where he was selected as Chief Resident of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and where he currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor teaching rhinoplasty techniques.
During his surgical training, Dr. Cochran studied the art of rhinoplasty under Dr. Gunter where he observed and assisted Dr. Gunter in surgery. Dr. Cochran’s enthusiasm and innate talent for rhinoplasty impressed Dr. Gunter, who asked Dr. Cochran to join the Gunter Center in 2006. “We feel very fortunate to have Dr. Cochran at The Gunter Center for Aesthetics & Cosmetic Surgery. He is a rising star in the field of nasal surgery.”
The rhinoplasty surgery differs from other cosmetic plastic surgery procedures in that it involves a surgeon correcting both form and function.
“Striking the perfect balance between correcting a functional problem and meeting a patient’s aesthetic goals is very important. A great looking nose that doesn’t work well cannot be considered a successful outcome because the two go hand in hand. I never settle for anything less than my personal best. This is the only thing I do, and it will be done right.”

Dr. C. Spencer Cochran believes in giving every patient the luxury of time. Every new primary rhinoplasty and secondary rhinoplasty patient is scheduled for a one-hour consultation with him during which he carefully explains what they can expect before, during, and after surgery. Because each individual possesses unique facial characteristics, Dr. Cochran designs a specific surgery for each patient. “The nose should never detract from the face or become a focal point.
