In the arena of cosmetic surgery, very few surgeons can claim the stature earned by Dallas-Fort Worth Dr. Jack P. Gunter. For over 35 years his profound contributions to rhinoplasty have transformed and inspired patients, students and physicians around the world. After a successful surgical career, he has trustingly handed his main surgical responsibilities to Dr. C. Spencer Cochran, retaining the role of Medical Director of The Gunter Center for Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Gunter remains an integral part of the Gunter Center and continues to be involved in complex rhinoplasty procedures involving rib cartilage grafts.

A Prestigious Surgical Career
Dr. Gunter has spent his career pioneering open rhinoplasty techniques for correcting primary and secondary nasal deformities. Early on, he devised a unique communication tool to teach other doctors about rhinoplasty techniques. His research and graphic information was developed into a software package allowing surgeons to pull combinations of rhinoplasty techniques to plan a rhinoplasty procedure, or use it as a teaching tool to show how the techniques affect the final result of surgery.
Double Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology, Dr. Gunter is routinely invited as a guest lecturer for meetings and symposia held internationally, including the University of Michigan – his alma mater – as the Reed O. Dingman Visiting Professor. A distinguished member of numerous medical associations and societies, Dr. Gunter has been the recipient of multiple awards, such as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons President’s Award, the Simon Fredrick’s Award, and the Aesthetic Award for video of “Primary Rhinoplasty via the Open Approach.” His name is synonymous with professional integrity.
